First Canon, now Samsung. Is there anybody who has NOT announced they are going to develop a high-end system camera "real soon now"?

This is starting to sound like the FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) strategy that IBM used to use. "Don't buy our competitor's excellent, already-available product... we're working on something that will be much, much better, and you'll kick yourself and look like a loser if you don't wait to see what we might eventually deliver someday..."
